P&L BBQ Hot Honey Thanksgiving Ham

P&L BBQ Hot Honey Thanksgiving Ham

Give your Thanksgiving table a little backyard-BBQ flavor with this sweet-and-spicy glazed ham. P&L Sweet Sooie brings the sweet BBQ flavor, Last Call AP adds a savory boost, and Mamma’s Hot Honey brings the honey-sweet kick that makes every slice shine.

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in or spiral ham (8–10 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons P&L Sweet Sooie BBQ Rub
  • 1 tablespoon P&L Last Call AP Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Mamma’s Hot Honey
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice or apple juice

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ham. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Place the ham cut-side down in a roasting pan. Pat the outside dry, then season with Sweet Sooie and Last Call AP.
  2. Warm it through. Cover the ham tightly with foil and bake according to the package directions, allowing roughly 10–15 minutes per pound as a general guide. Follow the package instructions for the specific ham you purchased.
  3. Make the hot honey glaze. While the ham bakes, combine Mamma’s Hot Honey, brown sugar, butter, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, and pineapple or apple juice in a small saucepan. Heat over medium-low, stirring until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves. Simmer gently for 2–3 minutes, then remove from the heat.
  4. Glaze the ham. During the final 30–40 minutes of baking, remove the foil and brush the ham generously with the glaze. Brush on another layer every 10–15 minutes. Keep an eye on it so the sugars don't get too dark.
  5. Rest and serve. Heat to the temperature recommended on the ham’s packaging. For a fully cooked, USDA-inspected ham being reheated, 140°F is generally recommended. Let the ham rest for 10–15 minutes before serving.
